AXWare For Windows - Screen Shots

The main Window:

The GUI is organized into several screen areas that are organized based on their function.

  • Class Tree View - (on the left of the screen) - contains all the defined classes and all  registered cars.  The tree like structure allows control of registering, staging or moving to entries.

  • Registration/Result Grid - (upper right) - this grid contains the registration list, consolidated and real-time standings and all recorded times, best run, total time, pax time, etc. Several (but not all) columns can be hidden from view depending on what information you want visible.

  • Staging Grid - (mid right) - this is the heart and control center of the application.  Cars that are to make their runs are "staged" in the sequence that they run the course, and once times are recorded the standings are automatically recorded in the Registration Grid, along with the other calculations that provide other statistics about each run.  Cars are entered into the Staging Grid in  several ways.

    • double clicking from the Class Tree

    • selecting cars from the Registration Grid

    • manual entering them into the Staging Grid via pull-down menus or explicitly typing the entry in.

  • Registration Log - (selectable - bottom status window) - this contains a log of any operations carried out in the Registration Grid, including file manipulation (reading and writing etc).

  • Staging Log - (selectable - bottom status window) - this log is the data-feed that displays the data for each finishing time.  It displays the current position of the car that just finished along with other tidbits of information. This log can be used for announcing purposes and is color coordinated to make position changes quickly evident.

 Screen Shots:

Below is a list of example screen shots that will demonstrate portions of the product.

Below is a screen shot of an actual event from 2004.

Menus

Report Menu:

All the reports can be generated as:

  • Print to a Printer

  • Printing to a TXT file

  • Printing to a HTML file

The formats are generally identical except that the HTML versions make use of hyperlinks in the output (and potentially table style views depending on the output option).

Here's a sample of a Timing Control menu.

Popup Menus:

Several popup menus are provided to help in manipulation of the data as well as control of the Registration Grid and Staging Grid.

On the left is an example of the operations that can be carried out by using the Right mouse button from the Class Tree View.

Hiding and Viewing Columns: Here's a shot that demonstrates how columns can be selectively hidden or viewed in the  Registration Grid.

This selection is for a normal non-SCCA style event. (excluding the optional columns as mentioned below)

More on Hiding and Viewing Columns...

This Hide and view menu is for a 2 day event and in this example, it's for a SCCA  style event that also provides additional columns that are optional configured during the creation of an event.  The addition columns include: Sponsor, Tire Brand and Size, Region and Division information.

Registration popup menu provides:

  • Staging the currently selected entry.

  • Goto the run in the Staging Grid that is currently selected in the Registration Grid.

  • Delete the currently selected entry.

Staging popup (right mouse click) menu provides:

Among other functions the menu allows:

  • Move around the grid

  • Synchronize the Registration and Staging entry (so both can be seen),

  • Go To the selected entry in the Registration Grid.

  • Moving Staged entries up and down 1 line to set the selected car(s)  to appropriate time.

  • Reaccept an entry (if necessary).

  • Update all the run numbers (if necessary).

  • Reprint a time slip (if necessary).

Creation of a New Event:

This shows the options that are set during the creation of a new Event.  Note: The number of runs can be reconfigured once the event is created.

If using AXWare ORM, force the AXWare ORM Event Registration Import dialog to pop up and download the entry list. Quick...easy!

Program Options:

Tab Sheets provide easy access to the program configuration attributes. The setup allows configuration of:

  • Basic event control settings.

  • Setup of Column widths for the final results (which vary considerably in width depending on the number of runs at an event).

  • Various Event modes including Lapping Mode and Rally X mode.

  • Penalty String assignments (allows you to setup the acronyms for dnf, dns etc)

  • Serial Port assignments for interfacing to the  Timer.

  • Points setup (if necessary)

Membership Points Options:

Several key elements are configured in the Points Options:

  • Whether or not Points are accumulated.
  • The number of events in the racing season for which points are controlled, including drops and a number of qualifying events for a Year End Championship.
  • In addition: Similar control for clubs using Pax Championship.
  • Select between 2 types of point accumulations -a fixed point system and a percentage based setup.
  • Points configuration is optionally active if you have selected Points Control for your Membership File.

Creation of a new Entry.

Insert a new entry by:

  • "Insert" toolbar button,

  • From the Class Tree, right click and use the popup menu that appears.

  • Note: the dialogue can also carry out updates if you have supplied a class and car number that already exist.  It is a convenient way to reset the flags if you already have the dialogue active.

Class Definitions:

  • fully customizable and are not explicitly limited to a preset length.  This allows customization to a club's needs.

  • Pax Factor support

  • Sort order in the Registration Grid is dictated by the order of the classes in the definition table.

  • Definitions for ALL classes must be entered, including Ladies classes.

  • Definition of Pax Classes is done here also (the Factor is set to 0 or left blank).

  • Customized Class files can be loaded or created based on your needs.

  • The file selected for an event will be retained by each Event Control

.

Heat Definitions: (example of a Class based Heat Assignment)

  • Select a heat for each defined glass

  • The "Heat" pull-down in the Staging Grid will allow class and car number selections based on these settings

  • The Report menu allows printing results based on the selected heat allowing tighter control of the reports

Work Heat Assignments: Notice the first row of the table below. It controls the Work-heat assignments.

Membership Screen Shots:

Below is an clipped example of a Membership List showing the headings that are available.  SCCA versions provide additional columns of data that are directly in tune with National level events. Also, point control is optionally configurable per Membership file.  The example provided shows 11 events with respective total columns.  The point system is based on program options as shown above.

Note: due to width considerations the images provided are clipped versions that only show the table headings for the Membership List.  They have also been broken into 2 clipped screen shots (data-less).

Part I:

Part II:

Hiding and Viewing Columns:

As with the registration list the columns can be hidden or viewed. (this example demonstrates the options with SCCA style headings active).

Membership Report Menu:

All the reports can be generated as:

  • Print to a Printer

  • Printing to a TXT file

  • Printing to a HTML file

 Testing the AXWRATS Timer:

A dialog is presented to test the timer and its status. It reports if the timer is responding correctly and if the lights are appropriately connected and functioning. The test can be run anytime (so long no cars are on course). Just to insure proper operation, the first time that timing is activated, this test will be run automatically.

The 3 check boxes at the top of the dialog indicated the success (checked) or failure (unchecked) of the timer, the start, and stop light, respectively.  The list status window indicates the testing sequence.

Timing Example:

Here's an example of a 2 running timers and several staged cars.

Note: Currently up to 10 timers can be specified and only the number selected will be displayed.  In this example only 3 timers were indicated.  For example if 2 timers would be selected, then only 2 timing buttons would be visible.

Print Templates: The example below dialog below, demonstrates the template associated with the Final Results being modified. The Print Template dialog controls access to the data columns, an associated template file (that stores the modifications) and controls to Activate and reset the templates as desired. The Select Report pull-down list contains reports that may be modified.
